Since 2008, the Trafigura Foundation has been offering full scholarships to prospective UWCSEA students in Singapore. These students are from Aceh, a region devastated by the 2004 Tsunami.
Based in Singapore, UWCSEA is more than a college with an International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. It is also a place that seeks to build up students’ confidence and leadership, shaping them into responsible adults who are aware of and involved in the community and the world they live in.
After a very successful 8-year partnership, 2015-2016 is the last school year which the Foundation will support.
Our last scholar, Rahmat, is due to graduate in 2016, while Rizqarossaa, who was the first UWCSEA-Trafigura Foundation scholar from Banda Aceh, is now an Advisor with the US Embassy in Jakarta’s Cultural Affairs Section to assist Indonesian students with their applications to study in the US.
